Taapsee Pannu Reacts to BoycottThappad Trend

Just when Twitter saw the hashtag – #BoycottThappad trending, we saw a number of tweets coming in support of this trend. People have brought out the old tweet of Taapsee Pannu when she has asked people to collect in Azad Maidan for the protest rally against CAA and NRC Rally in Mumbai. Just what we have seen the trend of Chhapaak being boycotted for Deepika Padukone’s visit to JNU calling her antinational similar things seems to have erupted in the social media asking them to boycott the film.
With the rise of the trend, Taapsee was seen talking about the same in a conversation with the leading newspaper in Mumbai. She said that her personal opinion or views should not dictate her professional life. She added saying that this should go to such an extent. While talking about the trend, she said it barely takes 1000 to 2000 tweets to make anything trend on Twitter and the hashtag with her film is also made to trend a similar way.
When asked if this will affect the film, she said she does not think so and it will not affect for sure. She further called this to be so stupid when anyone is targetted for expressing his or her socio-political views. She said it’s not her alone that made the film but there are hundreds of people who are behind it. She is no bigger than her films. This is not the first time when we have seen trends like these, Deepika Padukone has also witnessed the same. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
